Say Hello To New Habit

Getting back to my university life is still an awkward thing to feel, I guess. Two months in North Maluku for KKN (social service by university-red) and four months in Seoul for exchange; what a blessed experience I had for breaking the routines. There were many lessons learned and obstacles to face. Someday I’m gonna make some posts of it. But now, let me share to you some things in my mind.

The first month of 2011 is already passed. One word I’ve learned (until now) : adapting. Back to where I come from, everything is (somehow) completely changed. In any kind, the world keeps dynamically changing from the one I used to know. Have you ever been like this before? Being in the state where you don’t know which one is real and everlasting? We can’t make things last forever. As I learned from my mother, all the things that we have now may be taken by God anytime He/She wants. (I assume that God can be He or She or whatever you want to assume.).

A little thing to say about this. When you thing something is changed, it means that you DID expect something from it. It’s like you imagine one thing, and you keep expecting and make a picture of it in your mind. Until then, when you know the reality and somehow the picture of reality doesn’t look like the one in your mind, there you can go that a change is happening. After all, try to think from another point of view. Maybe they don’t change. Maybe it’s you who’s changing. Who knows? Let’s try to think widely and to not make yourself as a center of everything.

My tips when you feel sick of all the changing around you : be free! Make yourself dynamically free. Life still goes on, and there are plenty of things and opportunity that you can do. Make a target, write it in your agenda, and do new things that you’ve never imagined before. Sometimes, people are trapped in a comfort zone. While they are out from it, the disappointment is welcomed. The word in my dictionary is expectation. Yes, you expect and you have to face the consequences. Maybe you can take a look my ultimate post about people and expectation in here. You feel sad and say that that world is unfair. Don’t blame the world. Don’t blame God to give you such a life with all the changing. Everyone has its own destiny. Be the winner to make yourself to wake up from the one that brings you down. Be the champion of yourself!

Make a new habit. Before, I wanna tell you that habit makes you dying (slowly). It means don’t get into habit so easily. Make a balance of yourself. Make a new habit of getting new friends. Make a new habit of being a member of gym. Make a new habit of reading new books. Make a new habit to get up early. Make a new habit to live a new life! Well, before you make your own new habit, please be sure that it goes along with your target or your mission of life. Do you have one already? It can be anything, such as graduate this year, getting married next year, travelling around the world with friends, getting skinner, and anything. People has its own mission. But I hope the mission is not ONLY for yourself, but also people around you. Surely, don’t forget that target is nothing without a will and hardworking.

I have a new habit and somehow I feel like addicted to it. I become a member of a fitness club. No no, don’t ever think that I’m dying to get skinny and so on. I just wanna make a new habit of getting healthy and get into something new. I’m really bad at doing sport. That’s why, I invested my money (that I have collected from my works) to force myself exercising every day. It’s been five days and I feel great! Doing sport and exercise makes our body fit and healthy! It’s so exciting. In gym, I learn how to make a target and make me satisfied with something that was accomplished. Can you imagine how satisfied you will be after running in treadmill for 20 minutes? It’s making you someone new and creates the optimistic mindset in your life. Making your own championship in 20 minutes of running does sound silly, but it’s working to build a happier life. Spread the optimism and bring yourself into a new better life!
